SOLDIER'S PRAYER
SOLDIER'S PRAYER
Oh God Eternal, Architect of the Universe.
I beseech thee to hear my prayer.
I cry unto thee for leadership, protection, and forgiveness.
I pray for the leadership to inspire myself and others to overcome fear.
I ask the Almighty to illuminate my superiors, so that they make the right decisions.
I ask for protection against the dark forces aligned against me.
I implore you to protect my body and sanity from the rigors of war.
Most importantly I beg for your forgiveness.
If this day I must kill another, and stain my soul in mortal sin.
I call for you to judge me for the man I am.
A good man who's sacrificing it all for those he loves.
Much like your only son who died on the cross for mans sin,
I will bear the burden of mortal sin for the innocent.
So that they may live free from fear and oppression.
Know this Creator of the All when it's my time to die.
May your mercy shine upon my corrupted soul.
If I'm beyond redemption and cannot enter the kingdom,
Allow me a place on its wall.
So that I may see my loved ones one more time as they enter.
My sacrifice would be worth it then.
Amen.
